a sweet thank you note!

Recently my sweet sister-in-law was in a car accident. A broken rib and big bruises left her feeling lucky but very sore. Her wonderful neighbors and friends came to her rescue and brought meals and cleaned her home, something that meant so much to me because we are not close enough to help.

My sister-in-law asked me to draw a "thank you note" for her friends, something that had to do with her friends being the sugar that turned her lemons into lemonade. This is what I came up with.

I couldn't decide which I liked more.

Then my sister-in-law used her crafty skills to turn the picture into a card and delivered them to her friends with some lemon drop candies. Too cute!

While it's not a finished card (you need to add some color, some card stock, etc) I hope you enjoy this doodle. Click on the doodle picture and scale it to the size you want and print it, sorry I still haven't figured out how to attach a pdf, that would be so much easier. You could attach the card to lemon drops like my sister-in-law did, or to lemon bars, hum . . . that's as far as my cooking knowledge goes. I guess you could attach it to lemonade packets, any kind of goodie or simple just send the card!

I am wonderful at sending mental thank you cards, meaning I think in my head "I need to tell that person how much they mean to me," and then 6 months later I realize my beautiful mental card never got past my brain.

Take the time to tell someone how much they mean to you, your mom, sister, friend, co-worker, neighbor, child, etc. My current favorite quote is by James Barrie, the author of Peter Pan,
"Those who bring sunshine to the lives of others cannot keep it from themselves."

I would love to see what you come up with, send me a picture of your card to my email springmcdonald@gmail.com

If you can't scale the doodle just right, e-mail me and I can send you a pdf or word file. Thanks - Spring
